Discovering Malta and Gozo – Fixed date 7th March 2021
Ideal period for trekking in Malta, in this proposal 7 days with excursions proposed with an Italian speaking guide, you will visit the most fascinating corners of the island, rediscovering a rich nature, made up of breathtaking views, prehistoric furrows, megalithic temples and enchanting bays, the all contaminated by a millenary history.

Departure by scheduled flight from Italy, arrival in Malta. Transfer to your hotel and accommodation.
Dinner at the hotel and overnight stay.
Breakfast and meeting with the guide for the first half day of trekking.
Starting from the coastal village of Xemxjia we will start our trek by walking along the
“Roman path” with its interesting Punic-Roman remains.
You will descend into the Mystras valley, which offers frequent changes of landscape, and then go up to the village of Selmun and then reach one of the most beautiful eighteenth-century palaces in Malta, the elegant Selmun Palace.
Walking along the coast you will meet the remains of Fort Campbell, a British military base built in the early 1900s, and we will pass in front of the ancient Roman salt pans.
You will end the tour passing in front of the islands of Sao Paulo and the bay of Mystras returning to Xemxija for the transfer to the hotel.

With a transfer we reach the chapel of St Mary Magdalene, located in the cliffs of Dingli,
which with its 260 meters is the highest point on the island. From here you will start walking along one of the
most beautiful stretches of coast in Malta.
The trail takes us to the spectacular cliffs of Dingli, continuing through a succession of
headlands we enter the Girgenti Valley to see the "cart ruts", mysterious furrows
buildings excavated in the ground at Clapham Junction.
Finally, you resume the panoramic road up to skirt the mysterious megalithic temples of Hagar
Qim, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
It is possible to visit the temples at the end of the excursion (entrance ticket € 10), before the transfer to
hotel.

Starting from Riviera Bay, you will go to explore a different stretch of coast, the wildest and
fascinating of the island.
You will walk on the Ta Lippija plateau and then go down to Gneija beach and go up along
the Ras il Pellegrin plateau, venturing along the rocky coast to the scenic bay of
Fomm Ir-Rih (the mouth of the wind).
On the way back you will follow a different path that will lead you to travel the steep expanses of
clay between Gneija Bay and Tuffieha Bay from where you will return to the hotel.

Majistral Park is the largest protected natural area in Malta.
You will explore it starting from the watchtower of Ghajn Tuffieha (Riviera), going down to the
famous sandy beach of Golden Bay and then walk the park's rocky paths to the
famous and picturesque Anchor Bay with the famous Popaye village.
You will then retrace our steps following different paths through the Maltese countryside up to
reach Riviera Bay where transport to the hotel will be waiting for you.

This walk takes you from Gharb to Marsalforn, along the typical coast of Gozo, with rolling hills
in the background.
Starting from the small village of Gharb we continue on foot to the small and isolated chapel of
San Dimitri and then skirting Mielah Wied, famous for its natural window that opens onto the
cliffs.
You continue in the Ghasri Valley with its lighthouse, and finally, walking towards the coast, you reach
the precious salt pans of Gozo from where you will arrive at the Promenade of Marsalforn.
You will continue for a short tour of the village of the island's capital, ancient Rabat, now called
Victoria; its Citadel, which overlooks all the surrounding territory, for centuries served as a shelter against
attacks by corsairs and Saracens. Return to Malta around 05:00 pm

Breakfast and the rest of the day to relax. In the afternoon guided walk of Mdina or Valletta.
