Kilimanjaro Trekking – Marangu Route
The highest volcanic massif in Africa, it offers spectacular views and emotions. This route that crosses the Marangu route, also known as the “Coca-Cola” route, is undoubtedly the most famous and popular route, it also provides the convenience of staying overnight in the shelters.

Transfer from Kilimanjaro (JRO) airport to Moshi. If the weather were favorable, we could take a first look at the highest mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro (5895m). Once you arrive at the lodge, you will have some time to relax. Briefing for the trek around 5.00 pm
After a nice breakfast we head to the eastern side of Kilimanjaro to start our journey. Passing the Marangu Gate at 1,860m above sea level is where we start. It is a journey of about 7 km through the forest. Evening meal and an overnight stay at Mandara Hut. (3-4 hours trekking / 7 km)
After a good rest, we will have a good breakfast before passing through the forest and reaching Horombo Huts (3 700m). The distance we will cover today will be 11 km and along the way we could see some plants of the most interesting vegetation in Tanzania. (5-6 hours of trekking / 11km)
Today serves as an acclimatization day. We do a 3-4 hour trek to Zebra Rocks, so named because of the distinctive black and white stripes. (3-5 hours of trekking / 5-8 km)
Wake up at dawn and after breakfast we head towards Kibo Huts (4700m), about 12km from our destination. The first half of the hike crosses the upper moorland while the second crosses the area connecting Mawenzi and Kibo. The Kilimanjaro area is an alpine desert and requires attention. (5-7 hours of trekking / 12 km)
Today is "The Big Day" - the summit stage. Several hours before sunrise we begin the final journey to the summit of Kilimanjaro. As the sun rises we will reach Gilman's Point (5681m) which is the edge of the Kilimanjaro crater, where the sun slowly begins to warm the earth. After a further 1-2 hour excursion to Uhuru Peak (5895 m) we can celebrate the achievement of the achievement of the "Roof of Africa", continuation to Hormbo hut.

Our journey to the Marangu Gate is about 17km, a steady descent across the moor back to Moshi and accommodation at the lodge
