Lazio: Trekking Tivoli on the water route
Tivoli, the city of water welcomes you with a trekking in the province of Rome. Three days of guided excursions passing between the UNESCO heritage villas and the natural reserve of Monte Catillo.

Arrival of the participants and meeting with the agency contact. We begin the tour in the city admiring the panoramic view of Rome and crossing green landscapes of olive groves. The trekking route connects the city of Tivoli to the Villa of the Emperor Hadrian (Unesco site).
The itinerary partly follows the ancient path crossed by the tracks of the tramway that linked Tivoli to Rome until 1934

In the morning we head inside the reserve extended entirely within the Municipality of Tivoli for 1340 hectares. Ring route from Villa Gregoriana to Colle Lucco. This is the initial part of the path 330 known as "La Via dei Lupi" which ends in Abruzzo. The reserve is rich in flora and fauna, it will be possible to admire the rare pseudo-cork oak.

Optional afternoon to visit Villa Gregoriana / Villa d'Este or the Sanctuary of Ercole Vincitore.

The Aniene River which fed the aqueducts, the historic villas, the production of pizzutello and the Acquoria power plant which illuminated Rome for the first time in 1892.
The Roman aqueducts at the gates of Tivoli were 4: Anio Vetus; the Acqua Marcia; the Acqua Claudia and the Anoi Novus. The trek will follow the water route from Tivoli to San Vittorino where it will be possible to visit the Sanctuary "Our Lady of Fatima"
