Marche: trekking in the "Cappadocia" of the Marche to the Lame Rosse – Fixed date 23 August
Prepare your backpack, boots and poles and come with us to the Marche: trekking in the “Cappadocia” of the Marche in the great canyon of the Lame Rosse. An itinerary to discover the beauties of a land set between the sea and the mountains. With the colored hills overlooking the blue sea in the distance, the dreamlike pinnacles of the famous " red blades " and the peak of Pizzo dei Tre Vescovi where you can admire the Sibillini peaks. In this journey the beauty of the Marche landscapes is mixed with the rich history of the territory. The starting point is in fact the city of Urbisaglia , an ancient medieval village dominating the Fiastra valley . Urbs Salvia, this is its original name, was an ancient and great city of the Piceno, a Roman colony and municipality. This Marche trekking, however, comes alive on the second day, when you will make the excursion to Lame Rosse. What are the Lame Rosse? They are pinnacles of red rock which, due to atmospheric erosion which over the millennia has crumbled the limestone rock creating curious formations similar to the "fairy chimneys" of Turkish Cappadocia. The Marche trekking continues to the famous Piani di Ragnolo , along the Great ring of the Sibillini Mountains and offers us breathtaking views. Probably the essence of the Marche region: from the peaks of the Sibillini you can admire a landscape that sweeps up to the Adriatic sea, offering pure poetry. The last pearl that Marche trekking offers will be the Abbey of Santa Maria di Rio Castro along the nature path 13 . The abbey was founded in the 6th century and is still visited today mainly because it is in a panoramic position at 1000 meters above sea level and because of the wisdom of the monks. Are you still not convinced to participate in our Marche trekking? Here are three good reasons to do it:
Minimum 6 participants
Free arrival. Accommodation at the "Le Logge" inn in Urbisaglia, a medieval village where the signs of the Roman past are still visible, with the amphitheater, the walls and the temple. Its medieval origins, on the other hand, can be found in the Urbs Salvia castro, located on the top of a hill. Nearby is the Chiaravalle di Fiastra Abbey, founded in 1142 by the Cistercian monks, where there is also the Nature Reserve of the same name.
In the afternoon we recommend a visit to Urbisaglia.
