It is one of the trekking in the Himalayas with its circuit that is among the most beautiful in Nepal. An itinerary that joins a very wild part to another more known and popular, but always very spectacular.
The outward trek takes place in the Hinku Valley, with the passage of the Amphu Labcha, in front of the south face of the Lhotse. The return instead will be along the Khumbu Valley, with a classic but very interesting itinerary. The ascent of the simple but spectacular Mera Peak is the highlight of this program, in the presence of the Himalayan giants: Everest, Lhotse, Pumori, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu.
This is a trek that requires a certain physical commitment both for the altitude and for the distances, although it is designed to offer a good acclimatization and give the greatest possible success, and therefore it requires a good physical-athletic preparation. Technically it does not present particular difficulties; the only two slightly challenging points are the snow slide before the top of Mera Peak and the first part of the descent from the Amphu Labcha, sections that will still be equipped with fixed ropes and assisted by the expert and the Sherpas.
Departure from Italy with scheduled flight.
Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel Himalaya (2 *). Accommodation and rest of the day free.
Free visit of the city. Overnight stay.
In the early morning flight to Lukla, arrival and stop for lunch and preparations. Departure for Thukding where you arrive after 2 hours of walking (500 m in altitude), through a very easy and easy path. Overnight stay in a tent.
Ascent fairly direct towards the small village of Phorke Tenga located under the Zatrawa La pass (about 3 hours, 700 m in altitude). From the village, you can see in the distance the prayer flags that adorn the pass. Short acclimatization excursions in the afternoon.
Go up to the Zatrawa pass (4534 m.), and after crossing the Chetra La (4631 m.), descend to Thuli Karka (about 3.30 hours). A large erratic boulder marks the entrance to the village which stands in a very beautiful position.
Long stage (about 6.30 hours) with a beautiful and varied route in an alpine environment; the panoramas of the southern slope of Mera Peak begin, the descent on the river is beautiful, and it's pleasant the progressive slight ascent to Kote. The village on the river is very neat and despite the typical characteristics of the Himalayan pastures, the new lodges and tea houses indicate that the passage of trekkers has increased in recent years.
Beautiful stage that goes up the course of the Hinku river, while the vegetation gradually thins out. The elegant shape of Peak 43 dominates the bottom of the valley. Just before Tangnag, you visit the small gompa cared for by a single monk. Arrival in Tangnag in about 6 hours.
Day of rest and acclimatization. Acclimatization excursions can be made by climbing the moraine that descends from the Kusum Kanguru glacier above.
Climb to the last village in the Hinku valley. During the climb, a short detour is possible, to admire the beautiful glacial lake Sabai which rises at the foot of Peak 43. Arrival in Kare in about 3.30 hours.
Beautiful stage of about 3.30 hours that rises on the Hinku valley with spectacular views of the mountains around and the northern flank of Mera Peak. The crossing of the pass is on snow and does not present particular difficulties. Field on stones and sand.
Climb up easy slopes along the Mera Peak glacier. The presence of some crevasses requires binding, but there are no technical difficulties. In about 3.30 hours you reach the upper field which does not offer great space but is on stones and therefore not particularly cold. The view is already spectacular from here, with very wide panoramas on Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and numerous "minor" peaks.
Long day that starts at 03:00 am for the climb to the summit of Mera Peak. The slopes follow one another with an always rather moderate inclination (about 30 °) along the wide north-east ridge; climb the summit of Mera Centrale (6461 m.), and if time permits, you reach the last slide of about 55 ° - on which a fixed rope is equipped - which leads to the north summit of 647 m. The best viewpoints in the Himalayas combine accessibility, technique, altitude, and location together. The North Peak of Mera Peak possesses these characteristics in a truly complete way. It is in fact centrally located in the Mera range and offers an extraordinary view all around that embraces Everest and Lhotse to the north, Kanchenkunga and Makalu to the east, and Cho Oyu to the northwest. You then go down to the base camp where you rest for some time and then continue to Kouma Dingma (4785 m.) where it takes about 1.45 hrs. The field is beautifully located near a river where you can relax and wash comfortably.
You now descend into the wild valley of Hongu. The path is beautiful and develops at the foot of the Chamlang (7319 m.), The Peak 41 (6554 m.), and the Hongu Chuli (6833 m.), while in the distance you can admire the Baruntse (7200 m.) and the bulk of the south face of the Lhotse (8516 m). The very comfortable camp is on the grass. (arrival in 5.30 hours)
Long stage on moraine, quite tiring, but rewarded by splendid panoramas. In about 5 hours along the lakes of Panch Pokhari, you reach the field on stones.
This is the most tiring day of the whole trek. Departure around 5:00 am to face the Amphu Labcha pass. There are some technical passages on ice on the southern slope which are equipped with fixed rope and some passages and two abseils on rock (or snow, depending on the conditions) which are also equipped with fixed ropes by your climbing Sherpas. The panorama from the pass is splendid in every direction. Once you get off, it takes about 4 hours to walk to Chukung, where you will spend the night.
You descend towards the beautiful forest that hosts Deboche. Here there is still a small and splendid female monastery that can be visited. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Overnight stay at the lodge.
Go up the short stretch of path that leads to Tengboche. Here is the most important monastery in the whole valley and here the Mani Rimdu takes place in October-November; it is one of the most important Buddhist festivals ever. The monastery was rebuilt in 1990 after a fire destroyed it. From Tengboche, you descend towards Dudh Koshi, and then go up in the direction of Namche Bazaar, where you spend the night.
Long stage of return to Lukla, arrival, and accommodation in the lodge.
In the early in the morning we fly to Kathmandu. Arrival, transfer, and accommodation at the Malla hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.
Free day to visit the city and its surroundings. Overnight stay at Holy Himalaya hotel.
Depending on the flight, free morning. In the afternoon transfer to the airport and boarding the flight to Italy.

Given the particular nature of our travel proposals, the daily programs should be considered as a guide track. A series of variable factors that distinguish travel to high mountain regions in remote areas (prohibitive weather conditions, landslides, interruption of communications, etc.) can jeopardize the safety of the participants and consequently impose changes to the planned itineraries. It is the faculty of the organizer to make all those changes to the program that the security needs require.
