Alpe Devero is a real gem, nestled in the Lepontine Alps, right on the border with Switzerland. Endless high-altitude meadows, larch forests, alpine lakes and rugged mountains make this place a real homeland for trekking. We will be guests of a unique natural environment, preserved by the largest Natural Park in Piedmont, where we can spend a wonderful week, made up of excursions of all levels, observation of animals, knowledge of local stories and legends. An experience not to be missed for alpine hiking enthusiasts. Our base will be in Crampiolo, a small hamlet of a few houses at 1800 meters above sea level, where we will be able to enjoy the hospitality of the Locanda La Baita, famous for its traditional cuisine and for its sincere hospitality. During our stay we will carry out excursions of various levels and lengths, starting from the 1640 meters of the Piana up to the 2400 meters of the highest passes, according to the level and aptitudes of the participants.
Permanent trekking with guide
My name is Paolo Borra and I am enthusiastic about life in the open air. To convey this passion, I became an Environmental Hiking Guide and for years I have been offering excursions to those who choose to be guided by me in nature. My base is the Val d ‘Ossola, between the Maggiore and Orta lakes and the Himalayan walls of Monte Rosa. In this area, despite coming from a plain city, I have become more and more rooted, so much so that it is now my second home. I have a particular predilection for large crossings, for ring excursions, for tents and bivouacs in the open air. I like to travel and discover new territories on foot. These are some of the treks I usually do: Tour Mont Blanc, Tour Monte Rosa, Tour del Monviso, Valgrande, Via del Sale, Via degli Dei, Traversata dell’Elba, Sardinian Supramonte, Cammino dei Briganti, Amalfi Coast, Vercors, GR20 Corsica . For eight years I have been teaching training courses for Hiking Guides in the Piedmont Region and I am a Guide to the Protected Areas of Ossola. Safety is a fundamental principle for me and I try to respect it during all the excursions I organize. This does not mean that a pinch of adventure can be part of our days outdoors. I think it is part of life and that it serves to get to know each other better. I have experiences in trekking and mountaineering expeditions, all organized and conducted independently in: Patagonia, Alaska, Canada, Norway, Iceland, Greenland and Mongolia.
