CREA IL TUO VIAGGIOTravel Iceland: Trekking between glaciers and volcanoes – Fixed dates
Iceland and trekking, a unique group proposal that combines ice and fire, unique views, spectacular colors, and disruptive nature. By combining two of Iceland’s most popular hikes, we get an incredible seven-day trek through diverse natural landscapes. The trek begins in the famous Landmannalaugar geothermal area. It will be a highly experienced guide to lead you between multicolored earth and black sands, next to small badlands and large canyons, to rich and green valleys in Þorsmork, the valley of Thor. The mountainous region near the Hekla volcano is full of hot springs and magnificent views, so much so that it has been defined by the National geographic as “among the most spectacular in the world”. This first part of the trek is not very demanding. Once we leave this area we enter the second part of the trek, between gigantic glaciers and craters up to wonderful waterfalls in Fimmvorauhals, one of the most popular routes for walking among volcanoes and glaciers. This second part of the trek can be more challenging than the first. Of course, the weather conditions can influence the difficulty of the trek, although the proposed period is the most suitable. (recommended from 15 years) This second route allows you to witness what makes Iceland one of the most beautiful destinations in the world for outdoor tourism. In the evening you will relax in cozy mountain huts and where you can enjoy delicious Icelandic dishes. The top 5 of this trip:
The trekking proposal includes the transport of luggage for the first 4 days, accommodation in shelters with shared rooms. The trekking days include walks from 4 to 7 hours depending on the route and height differences that vary in the first stretch from 40 to 450 meters, while in the part of Fimmvörðuháls they are more demanding reaching 1000 meters.
