Extreme contrasts and mountains that exceed four thousand meters, Altai is a mosaic of indescribable natural and human scenarios. On the Mongolian side of the mountain, you can discover the wonders of Tavan Bogd National Park, the largest in Mongolia, crystal clear lakes surrounded by mountain peaks make it an unforgettable experience for travelers from all over the world. The beauty of the majestic Potanin glacier is also unexpected. The tour ends with a visit to Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia with more than one million inhabitants (it collects more than half of the population) and the country’s only large metropolis.
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, and transfer to the hotel. The Ulaanbaatar tour allows you to visit some of the city's main points of interest: the Gandan monastery, the monument to Genghis Khan in Sukhbaatar square, and the natural history museum. Accommodation in a 3stars hotel.
In the morning flight to Bayan Olgii, arrival and departure by 4x4 vehicle to Tavan Bogd National Park. Arrival at the starting point of the trek. Stop for a visit to the rock carvings of the Turkic empire (dating back to about 2000 years ago), arrive at the start of the trellising, and overnight stay in a tent. Camping accommodation.
After breakfast, start the trek to the Khoton Hurgan lake in the Tavan Bogd National park. Support vehicles to the lake. Camping accommodation.
Trekking to Tsagaan Gol through Aral Tolgoi, the valley of the Tsagaan Us river, the highest pass, and Mount Shiveet. From the 4th day, you will be fully supported by camels without the aid of the car. At the end of the 7th day, arrive at the Tsagaan Gol River valley. Meeting with the Tuvans and other ethnic groups. Camping accommodation.
Arrival at the base camp with the support of camels, 6 - 7 hours of walking from easy to moderate. Accommodation in Tent Camping.
Exploration of the Potanin Glacier. Camping accommodation.
The ascent of Malchin Peak (4050m) takes about 4-5 hours. The route is long but simple, mostly on debris, and does not require technical equipment. The view from the north towards Russia and the mountains of the Tavan Bogd group to the south is spectacular. Camping accommodation.
Return to Olgii, to the Oigor River where you will find our drivers. Camping accommodation.
Transfer to Olgii and 2-hour city tour of: market, museum, and mosque. Overnight stay in a typical Mongolian tent. Accommodation in Ger Camping.
Morning at leisure and then flight to Ulaanbaatar. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation in a 3 * hotel.
After breakfast, visit the museum of the Bogd Khaan palace - residence of the last king of Mongolia - and the Buddha Park. You will enjoy the folklore concert of the Tumen Ekh ensemble. Final dinner. Accommodation in a 3stars hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport to return to Italy.

DOCUMENTS AND VISA: A visa is required to participate in this trip, and also a passport is required, which must have a residual validity of at least 6 months from entry into Mongolia and 2 free pages. To obtain a visa, you must send us 2 recent passport-size color photographs and the form that we will send you, completed in all parts by the passport holder, within 30 days of departure.
Depending on the airline chosen, the arrival time in Ulaanbaatar could vary, and consequently, the visits could be changed.
Outside Ulaanbaatar: traveling in the Mongolian countryside is often difficult, the journey is conducted in remote areas where there are no hotels and paved roads. Outside of Ulaanbaatar, Ger’s tourist camps are the best accommodation for travelers. The Ger is a traditional Mongolian house made of felt layers and wooden constructions, and the Mongols have lived in Ger since time immemorial. The Tourist Ger camps offer comfortable Gers with 1-4 beds with comfortable beds, and also have western-style showers and toilets (mostly shared). Some Ger camps offer Ger en-suites for an additional fee (please ask before confirmation). Due to the distance, some tourist camps in Ger may not excel in the service by reducing the degree of comfort.
