The tour, available from Monday to Saturday, has no fixed cost, tips that participants want to leave are welcome.
In the early afternoon transfer to the picturesque town of San Gerardo de Dota (about two hours from the capital), located in the mountainous area at the foot of the Talamanca Cordillera, in the Savegre river valley, over 2,000 meters above sea level.
The area, dominated by the uncontested nature of the cloudy forest, offers its guests splendid landscapes that are colored by the distinct shades of green of the vegetation, the brown of the centenary trunks of its woods, the soft colors of the flowers of the fruit trees and shades brighter than orchids and bromeliads.

After breakfast we will go in search of the undisputed king of this area: the quetzal who, although the national bird of Guatemala, has decided to move to this area and make it his home. Bird watching attracts thousands of tourists from all over the American continent to San Gerardo de Dota every year.
Considering yesterday's "fatigue", today's walk will be lighter: always accompanied by a specialized guide on the subject, we will make a two-hour journey through the colors of the nature of this mountainous area and return for lunch. Free afternoon for further walks independently or for a little relaxation in the magical scenery of the place.

Breakfast and transfer around 10:30 am to the La Fortuna area, in the north of the country, a large area covered by the rainforest where the Arenal volcano, the so-called "perfect cone", stands majestically.
After the inactivity that lasted for hundreds of years, the Arenal suddenly (and unexpectedly) woke up in July 1968 with a violent eruption that destroyed the town of Tabacon. Following the eruption, three other craters were added to the only existing crater. Since 2010 the volcano has been dormant.

Breakfast and departure around 7.30 for a visit to the Bosque Eterno de Los Niños private reserve, a large area located between Monteverde and the Arenal volcano with gradients between 500 and 1,200 meters, which hosts a mainly wooded landscape (evergreen forest, rainy tropical forest and cloudy forest) furrowed by valleys, canyons, lagoons, waterfalls, streams that flow into the Atlantic as well as into the Pacific. Habitat of over 3,000 species of plants and trees, that is 1/3 of the flora present in the country, is home to a particularly large fauna: over 400 species of birds and more than 50% of mammals present throughout the country.
Basically, a natural paradise that we will discover with the help of an expert guide by creating a 7-kilometer path along which we will admire the primary and secondary forest, the volcanic soil with its fumaroles, the Pocosol Waterfall with more than 50 meters of height. , the canyon below.
The forest belongs to the Monteverde Conservation Association (ACM), a Costa Rican non-profit organization that has been tirelessly protecting, rehabilitating, and reforesting for 34 years (today it has planted about 1,600,000 trees), as well as conservation of local ecosystem and environmental education in schools and communities in northern Costa Rica.

The circular route takes place along the itinerary of about 8 km where we will meet the three lagoons that once formed the crater.
The experience ends with a typical lunch with a Costa Rican family.

Breakfast and transfer to the Tenorio National Park around 07:30 to make an excursion in the tropical rainforest, at the foot of the Tenorio volcano, in an area crossed by the Celeste River and populated by pumas, jaguars, tapirs, monkeys and many species of reptiles and birds.
The river, along its path, is tinged with a magical turquoise color due to the Divinity who, after painting the sky, cleaned the brush in its waters or ... according to the scientific version, for the optical effect due to the dispersion of sunlight due to the high concentration of aluminum silicates in the river bed.
Today's tour (7 km walk) takes place in a wonderful naturalistic setting that offers us the opportunity to admire the bubbling waters of the river, the waterfalls, the thermal springs, the Blue lagoon, Los Teñideros (the point where the river acquires its characteristic color) and, from the top of the belvedere, the Tenorio volcano and the surrounding mountain range.

Breakfast and departure around 08:00 for an unmissable trekking route that will allow us to know the area of the Arenal volcano and the changes it has undergone over time due to the eruptions.
The route - about 6.5 km - will lead us to different environments at the foot of the volcano: areas covered by trees and shrubs, grasslands, marshy and rocky areas, as well as the characteristic solidified lava paths. Included: snacks, water, packed lunch.
