Tuscany Trekking: In the Val di Chiana among vineyards, castles and glimpses of the lake
Between Arezzo and Siena, once an Etruscan land, the Val di Chiana is full of villages and paths, which cross vineyards and olive groves, passing by ancient farms, castles and sweeping views of Lake Trasimeno and the Umbrian – Marchigiano Apennines. Staying in Cortona, a medieval jewel that recalls the legacy of the Etruscan heritage, dotted with other interesting areas in the surrounding area such as the Eremo delle Celle, the castle of Montecchio, Castiglion Fiorentino and Castiglione del Lago, various simple / moderate trekking excursions are proposed. of different durations to choose from, ideal even in winter.

Independent arrival in the early afternoon in Cortona, accommodation in a central hotel with breakfast, with the possibility of integration for half board.
Breakfast and full day dedicated to trekking. Customers can choose from one of the following excursions:
1. Ring of Mount Ginezzo. An 8 km route that extends over the Monti della Chiana with exceptional views over the Val di Chiana, Lake Trasimeno and the Umbro-Marchiano Apennines. More challenging proposal as for differences in height compared to the next one.
Difference in altitude: 440 mt
2. Excursion from Terontola to Punta Navaccia (Lake Trasimeno) and return by train from Tuoro station (ticket price not included).
Very slight difference in height and length of 8 km, it allows you to cross the countryside with views of the lake.

Breakfast and check-out, independent transfer to the spot and meeting with the guide for a half-day excursion to be chosen from the following two proposals
1. Ring in the hills of the Val di Chiana located between Cortona and Foiano della Chiana. Crossing the gentle Tuscan landscape between vineyards and olive groves passing by ancient farms. The length can be up to 9 km but for the half-day excursion it will be shortened. At the end of the excursion it is possible to independently visit the suggestive Abbey of Farneta http://www.abbaziafarneta.it/

2. Ring from the Montegualandro Castle. A comfortable 6 km route that starts from the castle http://www.prolocotuorosultrasimeno.it/castello-di-montegualandro/ and runs on the hills above Tuoro sul Trasimeno from which it is possible to admire exceptional views of Lake Trasimeno and the Val di Chiana.
