Trekking Lazio – Enchanted trekking in the heart of Tuscia – 3 nights / 4 days

Trekking in Lazio, in the heart of Tuscia to explore the surroundings of Viterbo through simple trekking excursions. The proposals are divided into a short stay of both two nights and three nights, during the day you can immerse yourself in the magic of these unique and unexpected places, among these you will visit the Beech Forest of Monte Cimino . With its 1052 meters it is certainly not a giant, but the beauty of its woods in all seasons of the year places Mount Cimino among the most beautiful places in Tuscia both from a naturalistic and geological point of view. With a circular route that starts from the locality "La pinetina" it is possible to reach the summit and enjoy not so much the views, given the dense presence of tall trees, but of naturalistic mice of rare beauty and unique geological situations. A real paradise for those who love walking surrounded by nature, a few kilometers from the city. Another simple trek will be dedicated to the Monster Park and the Chia waterfalls . Numerous human testimonies from various eras, scattered in a thick forest of oaks and shrubs, from the remains of the medieval church and necropolis of Santa Cecilia, to traces of an Etruscan past, up to the mysterious "Etruscan pyramid" a huge monolith, probably used as an altar for religious rites, but also a path with panoramic views of absolute beauty that will lead us to the Pasolini tower, where the spectacle is guaranteed by nature, with the waterfalls of Fosso Castello, surrounded by old mills and many traces of settlements humans. Finally, in the short itinerary, the last day is dedicated to underground Viterbo and is composed of a network of tunnels that extend under the historic center and lead beyond the walls. In the three-night and 4-day itinerary, the Vitorchiano trek “The suspended village” is added to the previous ones. The peculiarity of this ancient settlement that has Etruscan origins lies in the fact that both in Roman and medieval times, the houses were not in masonry but simply dug underground, with wide views from the cliffs towards the gorge. In addition to the underground cavities that characterize the site, along the route there are many testimonies left by man and among these the remains of a medieval church surrounded by a small cemetery with anthropomorphic tombs, a mill and the remains of the castle of Corviano. The proposed accommodation is in a widespread hotel to better savor the destination, dinners at local restaurants.

4° day
