The Classic Larapinta Trek is included in the 7 Great Walks of Australia and is also included in the top 10 world walks.
It is more than 200 km long and goes from Alice Springs to Redbank Gorge crossing the rocky plateau of the West MacDonnell Ranges along the way there are semi-permanent fields and you will have to bring with you only your personal daily equipment necessary for walking.
At the end of each day, you will be able to appreciate the comforts of the semi-permanent fields (Ti Tree and Charlie’s) equipped with heated lanyards, hot showers, chemical services, solar energy, and USB 12V charging. A support vehicle will transport the surplus material also personally. Meals are abundant and delicious. The selected routes were chosen for the spectacularity and variety of environments and panoramas crossed in this ancestral place.
You will be struck by the immensity of Ormiston and Serpentine gorges so rich in precious water… you will be fascinated by the chromatic changes of the rock formations of Simpsons Gap and Standley Chasm, you will be struck by the trek of Mt Sonder (1380m) and by the magnificence of the panorama visible from its summit. Last but not least, you are welcome to the land of Arrernte Aboriginal traditional people who are guardians of this vast area.
