Half day trekking itinerary - from the Blue Grotto to the bay of Ghar Lapsi
Departure from the panoramic parking near the Blue Grotto, one of the most representative and iconic places in Malta. Walk to the temples of Ħaġar Qim in Qrendi. After the visit (entrance fee: 10 € / pax) you will walk the path beyond the Mnajdra Temples crossing a slight slope towards the sea. Once arrived near the coast the guide will give us some notions of geology and the steps that led to the formation of these wonderful and steep landscapes that lead up to the bay of Għar Lapsi. Along the path you will notice the traces of the Magħlaq fault, natural arches, badlands leading into the sea, alluvial deposits and a small and little known "Inland Sea" called il-Mitqub.
Half day trekking - From Ras il-Qammieh to Fomm ir-Rih
Meeting at the Ras il-Qammieħ viewpoint. You will continue on foot towards the Red Tower built by the knights of St. John to watch over the canal between Malta and Comino. From here you can enjoy the magnificent views of the islands of Gozo and Comino on one side and the north of Malta on the other. Once past the bay of Għadira you will descend along the valley and stop at the Bird Sanctuary inserted in the Għadir Nature Reserve, a brackish water marsh that hosts rare bird species such as flamingos, storks and other migratory species that they wade in the shallow waters. From there you will approach the jagged cliffs on the other side of the terrestrial strip that lead directly to Popeye Village and the picturesque bay of Anchor. Following the rugged karst landscape keeping south-east you will arrive at the Majjistral Natural Park where you will be able to observe some rock formations that detach themselves from the plateau towards the sea and formed from innumerable sedimentations below the Mediterranean Sea. You will stop at Golden Bay or Għajn Tuffieħa Bay before heading over the clay slopes into Ġnejna Bay. From there you will go towards the internal areas and follow indistinct paths beyond the Ras il-Pellegrin plateau, you will climb along the cracks of the cliffs for Kunċizzjoni and from above you will look towards the expanse of cliffs that form the iconic Fomm ir- Rih.
Half day trek - From the cliffs of Dingli to Ghar Lapsi
The tour will begin at the highest point in Malta and will continue to the Bronze Age village then to Fawwara, the cliffs of Xaqqa, Ghar Lapsi and then along the coast to the Temples of Hagar Qim.
